Bunny Berigan

BUNNY BERIGAN (1908–1942) was a brilliant American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and occasional vocalist whose career helped define the sound of the Swing Era. Known for his rich tone, technical mastery, and emotionally charged solos, Berigan played with top bands including Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey before forming his own orchestra.

His 1937 recording of “I Can’t Get Started” — featuring both his trumpet and his vocals — became his signature song and a jazz standard. Though his life was tragically cut short at age 33, Berigan's legacy lives on through the timeless beauty of his music.
