Notes | Songs of Israel/Zvia Abarbanel Zvia Abarbanel is of Yemenite origin coming to Israel at the age of 9 on the "Magic Carpet" flights. During her performances she is usually in Yemenite dress with incense flowing. She came to the United States and learned of Jazz and started to use Jazz in her songs. There are 4 selections on today's Vistas of Israel program: 1) Who Kissed Me That I Spend My Days In Dreams is a Yemenite song. 2) Ballad To A Fighter is a dedication to her adopted country. 3) Wings Of Love is a tender love song. 4) D'mot A'nai, The Tears Of My Eyes, is based on a traditional Yemenite tune. |
