The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | Songs Sung by Rivka Zohar Rivka Zohar was a bright new star on the Israeli pop charts at the time of this Vistas of Israel broadcast. She was 22 at the time of the original broadcast and was a graduate of the Navy Entertainment Ensemble. She was born on Kibbutz Na'ha'lel, which was also Moishe Dayan's kibbutz. She has been voted best singer of the year by Isra Radio and received the same award from the Israel Army Radio Station as well as other awards. There are 4 selections on this Vistas of Israel program: 1) I Build A Little Home is sung half in English with the other half in Hebrew and is a catchy little tune. 2) Oriana, is a love song about a girl name Oriana. 3) Rabbi Akiba is a song about Akiba who was told by a girl that she would marry him if he studied and became learned. He married her, went away and studied Torah for 40 years, came back and found his wife had white hair and he was learned. 4) Ben Yofer No'lad, A Beautiful Child Is Born, is a story of a boy who is born, grows up, finds a girl, goes off to war as a soldier and the girl stands at the railroad track wondering why her boy friend never reached 20. |
