The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

This Vistas of Israel program features songs about the hot winds that blow in Israel. Ther are 4 selections on this program:

1) Hon'sin) is sung by Elli Gorlitzky and 3 young singers and is a song about a wind that blows in Israel and how it affects people and places.

2) An untitled Hora about heat in the desert is sung by the Southern Command Ensemble.

3) Shar'kia is another name for the harsh desert winds and is a song sung by a trio called the Schlo'chet Ha'metorim.

4) Moshe Willinsky and Hyam Heffer wrote this humorous song about the hot desert winds and how it affects town dwellers. It is sung by the Yarkon Bridge Trio.
