Notes Songs of the Young People of Israel

Israeli youth like and sing the same types of songs that are sung in most other countries of the world. While many of the songs are joyful, the mood sometimes becomes quite serious because of the threats of outside attack and other possible threats. There are 5 selections on today's Vistas of Israel program:

1) Yoram Avel sings I'll Paint The Leaves Green, which tells what he will do for his girl, such as buying an ocean liner, painting the falling leaves green and bringing the rain down in a heat wave. 1:30-3:39

2) Song To An Unknown Girl is sung by Gabby Berlin and is a wistful melody. 4:02-5:45

3) Yay, Yay is sung by Fantom Befil. 6:06-8:17

4) Between Us is sung by Yigel Bashon. It is a love song that has a background of the wars and its effect on a young couple in love. 8:55-11:12

5) Effie Veise sings The End Of Love is a backward look at the dreams of childhood. 11:26-12:56
