Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

Notes Songs of Israel/Teumim Trio---

The Teumim Trio went their separate ways but came back together and at the time of this Vistas of Israel program were touring the country of Israel. The troupe was born when they met at The Central Command Ensemble. There are 4 selections on today's program:

1) Suddenly You Love Me is an American tune transformed into a Chassidic song about a wedding, a bride and groom and a Rabbi dancing for joy. 1:01-4:05

2) Crazy Ben Tzion is a song about a tramp who dies in his sleep in a park and is an allegory about a man who is not responsible for his actions. 4:55-8:35

3) I Love You is a song with a touch of romance. 8:41-11:20

4) This Land Is Your Land is an adaptation of the Woodie Guthrie song of almost the same name. This is a song of soldiers' return home. 11:43-13:51

Recordings restricted by copyright will only play 45 seconds to give you a sense of what that recording originally sounded like. These recordings can be identified by the words (Research Station) in the music player.
