The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | Songs of Israel/Avi Toledano Avi Toledano came to Israel from Morocco alone when he was 16 years old. Although he came without his parents, he did bring his guitar. He spent his first year in Israel on a kibbutz while also learning Hebrew. Once he left the kibbutz his talents were quickly discovered. This all happened before his 18th birthday when he became a soldier in the Army as is required by Israel law. His singing has become a combination of Israeli song-writing and French pop-singing style and even though he was in the service, he managed to get his recordings out to the general public. He was also chosen as "singer of the year" for 1968. There are 5 songs on today's Vistas of Israel program: 1) Where Does The Train Go? Is the title of Avi's first song on today's Vistas of Israel program compose d as he was travelling to Israel from his original home of Morocco at the age of 16. 1:26-2:59 2) This Is Jaffa was Avi's first song written in Hebrew. 3:28-6:00 3) Yatzati Im Shachar), I Went Out With The Dawn. 6:54-8:58 4) Al Telech is a song where a father pleads with his son not to go down to the cruel sea. 9:19-12:16 5) Ra’ity et Hakayitz, I Saw The Summer. 12:09-13:50 |
