Notes The Songs of Ya'ir Rosenblum

Ya'ir Rosenblum was a popular writer of Israeli folk songs during the early 1960's. At the time of this Vistas of Israel program he was training two Israeli military entertainment groups where he also received his musical training.

1) Excerpts of several of Ya'ir Rosenblum's hits of the time (all untitled) are played as in introduction to the musician's work.

2) Ane Chavederek Ha'zara, There Is No Way Back, is a very lively song about the travails of the Russian pioneers showing that no matter what they did there was no way back.

3) An untitled song that sounds almost like spirited Greek music.

4) Mah Avarech?, With What Shall I Bless?, is song about an angel.

Recordings restricted by copyright will only play 45 seconds to give you a sense of what that recording originally sounded like. These recordings can be identified by the words (Research Station) in the music player.
