Notes The Israeli Singer Hava Alberstein

At the time of this Vistas of Israel program, the 22 year old Hava Alberstein was one of Israel's more noted singers. She is interviewed by the narrator who saw her first performing when when was 18 and singing in Yiddish, which language was spoken in the home with her parents. She decided to become a singer professionally after the Six Day War because she found that she was being well received by audiences. There are 4 selections on today's program:

1) Rebenu Tam is a lively Yiddish song.

2)Lesaper al Hakoshi shela,v’ain Ezra (check spelling) is sung along with Danni Gano and is a song about a woman who carries the burden of the world on her back and no one helps her.

3) Hava plays the guitar in an untitled instrumental solo.

4) Al Oz Haruach is a children's song about the winter.
