The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | The Story of Kibbutz Kfar Etzion (narrative only) Kibbutz Kfar Etzion is located in the harsh lands of the Judean Hills. There is much history that precedes the current Kibbutz, but now one hears the sound of tractors tilling the soil and preparing for farming of fruits and vegetables at what is called Kfar Etzion. In the 1948 War For Independence the original settlers had been killed. In 1968, the youth and many of children and kin of the settlers who had been killed, came back to rebuild and reestablish the Kibbutz. A number of the people, whose average Kibbutz age is 22, are interviewed concerning their reasons for wanting to return and rebuild this religious Kibbutz. Everyone dresses up for Shabbat and are proud of the background that they have inherited. While the last winter had been rough, this winter they are better prepared for cold, with most having kerosene stoves or electric heat. Products also include the caring of sheep and poultry as well as the growth of flo wers for commercial sale. |
