Notes Songs of the Bible

It is said that the Bible cries out to be set to music. Here are 4 selections from today's Vistas of Israel program that embody this thought, all untitled in Hebrew:

1) King Osias is a song about a Biblical king who set about to build ramparts to defend the city of Jerusalem. It is sung by an unnamed male group. 1:40-3:41

2) This is a song about Moses striking the rock from which flowed water to quench the thirst of his followers as the story is told in the Bible. The song is sung by an unnamed mixed group in a very upbeat fashion. 4:30-7:55

3) "Open unto me the gates of justice" are words from the Bible and interpreted in song in a modern spirit. It is sung by an unnamed male group. 8:17-10:04

4) The High Windows is the title of a song about the Biblical Ezekiel. It is sung by an unnamed mixed group. 11:46-13:47

Recordings restricted by copyright will only play 45 seconds to give you a sense of what that recording originally sounded like. These recordings can be identified by the words (Research Station) in the music player.
