The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | The Story of Yoram Gaon in Music Yoram Gaon is an Israeli singer and entertainer who was born in Jerusalem and began his career while he was with an Army entertainment troupe, a unique feature of Israeli military service. Yoram became a member of the Nahal Troupe, which was one of the more famous of the military entertainment organizations. After his military service he joined The Roosters, another popular musical group composed of 8 men. Then came a period where Yoram became a serious dramatic actor. From there he went on to join the Yarkon River Trio, another popular musical group. He then studied abroad (in America). He came back to Israel where he starred in the first all-Israeli musical, Casablan. There are 4 selections on this Vistas of Israel program: 1) chulsha Shel Bat, The Weakness Of A Girl, is a good-natured song typical of the entertainment troupes. 3:49-4:43 2) Shir Ha'shuk, The Song Of The Market, was the hit of its time in Israel. 5:55-7:26 3) Al Telchi Levad, Don't Walk Alone, is sung by the Yarkon River Trio, of which Yoram was a member. 9:05-10:22 4) Yesh Makom is from the Israeli musical, Casablan. 11:31-13:32 |
