The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

Notes Israel Song Festival 1967

The Israel Song Festival of 1967 represents the 6th annual such event in the Country. It was held in the Convention Hall of Jerusalem before 3000 people. It was also broadcast throughout the country via air by the State broadcasting company. There are 5 selections on this Vistas of Israel program:

1) Shir Ricud, Dance Song, is sung by Edva & David. This song was not one of the Festival winners, but was still warmly received by the audience. 1:26-3:26

2) Tamid M’chadash, Always New, is sung by Ron Eliran and won Second Prize. 4:!3-6:40

3) Mi Yodea Kama?, Who Knows How Much?, is sung by Mike Borshtein and won First Prize. 6:46-8:53

4) Tirtza Ha`Yaffa, Beautiful Tirtza, is sung by The Parvarim Duo and won Third Prize. 8:55-11:10

5) Yirushalayim Shel Zahav, Jerusalem Of Gold, is song by Shuly Natan. This song was not an entry in the Festival but was commissioned by Kol Yisrael, the State radio system. The narrator poses the possibility that this song and its singer would be heard again and again. He was correct. 12:17-13:28
