The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | Music of Israel/Songs of the Fishermen All countries bordering on the waters have their stories, folklore and music about those who go down to the sea in ships. Israel is included in that group. There are 4 selections about fishermen on this Vistas of Israel program: 1) Sfinat Dayig, The Fisherman's Boat, is sung by Rika Zaray and is about a fisherman and his sons. 1:52-4:06 2) HaDayag, The Fisherman, is sung by an unnamed male trio singer and is a fable put to music where the fisherman catches a fish and throws it back, catches a mermaid and throws that back and finally catches a shark and throws that back. He then wonders who will live longer, they or him.4:43-6:52 3) The Sarid Trio sing an untitled song about fishermen sliding their boats into the water through the dawn mist. 6:57- 4) An untitled song is sung by an unnamed female singer and tells the story of a little girl who sees her father off and waits at the shore for his return so she can see his catch. 10:52-13:49 |
