The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

Notes Music of Israel/Songs of the Balladeers/ Shimon and Ilana,

Shimon and Ilana (The Balladeers) are a husband and wife team who have sung folk music together internationally. Although both are not Sabras, they have captured the true spirit of Israel. Shimon plays the guitar and Ilana is a gifted flautist.

1) Ha'Raebbi Ve`Harabanit, The Rabbi And His Wife, is a song about the the two strolling along on their Sabbath walk. 1:38-3:42

2) Shuv Yored Ha’Layla, Night Has Fallen, is a song about the peace and tranquility that comes with the Israeli sunset. 4:15-5:50

3) Saeiny Imcha, Carry Me Away With You, is a love song. 6:33-8:57

4) Kirvu Na’arot Hachen, Draw Closer, Sweet Maidens, is from a French folk song. 9:15-11:00

5) Nitzanim Niru Ba`Aretz, The Flower Buds Appear On The Earth, the text of which is taken from the Bible. 11:10-12:55
