Notes | The Kol Yisrael Light Orchestra The "light orchestra" was founded in 1959 and was sponsored by the Israel Broadcasting Authority known as Kol Yisrael. There are 4 selections on this Vistas of Israel program: 1) An Instant With Oranges was written for a small film unit of the Israeli Armed Forces and was composed by an Israeli, Vilensky. 2:07-4:55 2) A Train To Haifa was also composed byVilensky and was originally written as background for an Israeli film. 5:31-8:19 3) Simona Mi Demona was arranged by one of Israel's foremost jazz musicians, Mel Keller and is about the city of Demona, a fast-growing industrial area. 8:47-11:00 4) I Gave My Love A Jar (?) was arranged by Vilensky. 11:12-14:30 |
