The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

Notes Music of Israel/Hassidic Songs

Some Jews of Eastern Europe resisted the formal "straitjacket" of formal prayer to that which could be obtained through musical expression, either joyful or melancholy. There are 4 selections on this Vistas of Israel program:

1) Ha'gashash Ha’chiver. 1:43-4:38

2) Al Tira, I Will Not Fear, is sung by the Israeli choral group, Zemer Ran. 4:49-6:05

3) Ele Heim Dvarim she Liby Mechavev, These Are The Things Which My Heart Delights, is sung by the Israeli choral group, Zemer Ran. 6:18-7:36

4) Shimon Bar sings The Ballad of Rabbi Eli Mellech. 7:52-10:07
