The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | Songs Of Israel/The Dudaim The Dudaim, a duo, is one of the most popular groups in the Israeli folk song branch of music. One member of the duo was in the Israeli armed forces and the other was a serious student of music and both happened to meet at a party they were attending one evening. They were asked to sing together and the "rest is history" as has been said. There are 5 selections on this Vistas of Israel program: 1) Etz Harimon, The Pomegranate Tree, describes the beauty of love as symbolized by this particular tree with its beautiful aroma. 1:58 - 4:07 2) Bom Selah D'ber Sheba, is a song about the new railway to Ber Sheba traveling through the desert and giving fright to a caravan of camels. 5:11 - 7:49 3) Rad Halailah, Night Has Fallen, is a traditional Hora. 8:17 - 10:33 4) Devka Ha'bir, is another Hora and is about a soldier on horseback and his happiness on seeing his loved one. 10:45 - 12:05 5) Erev Bar, Evening Comes, heralds the approaching night and is a song about the shepherd ring his sheep home before nightfall. 12:40 - 14:02 |
