Notes Songs of the Israel Hit Parade

While there is no real radio program in Israel as there was in the United States called "The Hit Parade", there are a number of popular song specialties that have become best sellers, some for many months. Today's Vistas of Israel program presents 4 selections of this genre:

1) Shir Ha'noded, The Song Of The Wayfarer, is sung by Rom El'eron, a young Sabra and is the opening strain of today's program. 0:53 - 4:17

2) Los Becaudas Symphonas is sung by The Northern Command Variety Ensemble and shows the influence of the South American emigrants to Israel. 4:56 - 7:48

3) Etz Ha'boded, The Lonely Tree, is sung by an unnamed group. 8:19 - 10:49

4) Ha'Gavia, The Cup, is sung by The Yarkon River Trio. 11:15 - 13:40

Recordings restricted by copyright will only play 45 seconds to give you a sense of what that recording originally sounded like. These recordings can be identified by the words (Research Station) in the music player.
