Notes Songs the Soldiers Sing

All countries with military forces develop their personnel physically and emotionally. This goes so far to include songs that would build the spirit. This is true for Israel as well, only more so because of Israel's birth and growth which includes not only defense of its frontiers, but also the maintenance and caring for the land. There are 4 selections on this Vistas of Israel program:

0:53 - 1:17 1) Be Magal Beherev, Between The Scythe And The Sword, is sung by the Nahal Troupe. The song tells of defending the land by the "sword" and tilling of the soil by the "scythe". 2:35 - 3:56

2) A'crov A'haron, The Last Battle, is sung by the Nahal Troupe and is a song about the senselessness of war. 4:26 - 6:58

3) Dudu is a song about a soldier named Dudu who goes out one evening on guard service and whose body is brought back the next morning. It is sung by an unnamed male singer. 7:24 - 11:49

4) Ne'hez B'chol Nesch Elot, We Shall Hold Our Positions Down To Elot, is sung by the Nahal Troupe. 12:03 - 13:50
