The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

Notes Folk Songs Of Israel:Gilboa Quintet

The Giboa Quintet is the highlight of today's Vistas of Israel program. The Quintet was formed from members of two kibbutzim in north central Israel. The work performed is primarily instrumental until they get together with with various singers or singing groups. There are 5 selections on this record:

1) Hora or circle dance is today's first performance.

2) L'han Ha'rohim, The Shepherd's Tune, was composed by the group's leader.

3) Mi Of Ha'Galil, Who Will Build The Galilee?, accompany the Ramamim Singers.

4) Nitsuim Mi'ubiaretz, The Buds Appear On The Earth, is sung by Arila Ba'lev, accompanied by the Giboa Quintet.

5) Luna Ka'he'shashilek, The Chain Shall Not Be Broken is played by the Giboa Quintet.
