Notes Folk Songs Of Israel

Today's Vistas of Israel program centers around the City of Jerusalem. It is interesting to note that the name Jerusalem in English means "City of Peace" and is the holy center of spiritual thought of the country. There are 3 selections on this program: 1)Imesh Kahecht Ha'Y'rushalayim, If I Forget Thee, O Jerusalem, is sung by Rose Sander as the soprano soloist. 1:43 - 4:22

2) Y'rushalayim is a song about the longing of people to see Jerusalem once again in their lives and is sung by Sarah Lash. 5:02 - 8:17

3) Y'rushalayim is a song singing the praises of Jerusalem and is sung in Yiddish by Emma Shaver , the soprano soloist. 9:00 - 12:10
