The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

Notes Folk Songs Of Israel-Part II-The International Folk Singers

This Vistas of Israel continues with a second program celebrating the songs of The International Folk Singers. There are 5 selections on today's program: 1) Tzenna, Tzenna was composed by Isaha Maron and became internationally played and sung by many groups. The song beseeches the young girls to greet the Israeli soldiers. 1:28 - 3:32

2) Dovid Melech Yisrael, is inspired by the biblical stories of David and taken from that source. 3:52 - 6:13

3) Afin Jon, A Ceremonial Coffee Pot, which is passed around the campfire and is a song of hope and strength. 6:35 - 8:23

4) La Midbar, To The Desert, is a song of dedication to the pioneers of Israel who were able to bring the desert to life through reclamation and cultivation. 8:42 - 10:22

5) Zut Haderech L'Elyot, This Is The Road To Elyot, is dedicated to those who built and protect the southern-most port of Israel. 10:55 - 13:14
