The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.

Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

Notes Folk Songs Of Israel-The Roosters-Part 1

The artists on today's Vistas of Israel program are Ha-Tarni-golim or The Roosters. The eight member group was one of the most popular in Israel, as of the time of this broadcast. There are 4 selections on this program:

1) Shir Hatar nigol, The Song Of The Rooster, is an amusing song, and, of course, is a take on the name of the Group. 1:49 - 3:23

2) Shir Ha-shuk, The Song Of The Market, is a lively song about the marketplace. 3:54 - 6:21

3) Zemer A'havaLa'yam, A Song Of Love To The Sea, is a about a "landlubber's" feelings of the sea. 6:58 - 9:47

4) Ha-enerale Ha-Mexacani, Castanyetas, The Mexican General, Castanyetas, is a humorous song about a bumbling military officer. 10:12 - 12:49
