Notes Sports In Israel - Interview By Boris Joffe

Boris Joffe, an American correspondent, spent several weeks touring through Israel and interviewing many inhabitants of the country in different fields of endeavor. On today's Vistas of Israel program, he discusses Sports as one of those fields with the Jerusalem Post's Keith Beecher, one of Israel's most noted sports writers. Mr. Beecher is asked about the status of, sports appeals to young and old. Soccer is the foremost sport, followed by basketball and volleyball. These sports and others are very well organized both professionally and as amateurs. Most of the minor sports are also popular, but not nearly to the extent of soccer and basketball.
