Notes | Popular Suite/Hanoch Jacoby Hanoch Jacoby was born and raised in Eastern Europe before he emigrated to Israel in the mid-1940's. A composer in his own right, he was also an accomplished viola player. It was during the War for Independence in 1948 that he started to compose songs for children, and music for the recorder. He also composed concertos, and the piece presented on today's program, The Popular Suite, played by the Kol Israel Orchestra conducted by Yochanan Bern. |
