Notes Composers of Israel: Interview with Chaim Alexander

When Ezra Latterman, a noted American composer, visited Israel he interviewed a number of Israeli musicians and composers. Mr. Latterman interviews composer Chaim Alexander in this broadcast.

Mr. Alexander discusses his own works in the genres of choral, orchestral, and piano music, as well as his musical education in Berlin, Germany. He began his music instruction with the piano, and it was not until he came to Israel that he began to compose music.

Besides his classical works, he has also produced about 30 popular songs and Israeli folk songs. Mr. Alexander also gives his views concerning the growth of Israeli music.
