The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | The highly successful Singers of Israel choir, also known as the Malavsky Family choir, made its debut in 1947. At the time of this recording, the group could only gather for their traditional High Holiday and Passover appearances, and occasional recording dates. But on his farm, kindly Cantor Malavsky presided over the joyous weekly gatherings of his family while Mamma, the only non-singer, bustled about with family preparations. The Malavsky family singing is a unique creation, the old sentimental choir music of East Europe with its naive harmonies sung by voices of innocent purity, backed by a solidly marked rhythm and a touch of syncopation. |
