The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | Pinchos Segal was one of the great cantors of the twentieth century. He was born in the Ukraine at the turn of the century. As a youngster he studied Talmud, but then attended the Kiev Conservatory where he received a rounded musical training. He became a popular folk singer, acquired the name Pinchik, and toured the country under the sponsorship of the anti-religious Soviet government. Pinchik quietly became cantor at the Leningrad Synagogue. He immigrated to the United States in 1927. One side of this record contains prayers from the Yom Kippur and Sabbath services and the other side has some popular Yiddish folk songs. |
