Sammy Weber, also known as "the virtuoso" was dramatically introduced to the violin when he was only three years old. He remembers sitting front and center at the Radio City Music Hall in NYC with his parents. The lavishly decorated and immense theater is known for its hydraulic system which can raise and lower the entire orchestra. Just imagine the impression that must have made on a three year old! As the orchestra rose from the pit and the lights on the music stands became visible, music filled his ears, but it was the hands of the violinists that filled his eyes. Sammy's father noticed that his son was imitating the movement of the violin bow across the strings with so much enthusiasm and gusto that he became inspired to buy a real quarter- size violin for Sammy the very next day. Sammy's love of the violin led him to the Juilliard School of Music where he met and was inspired by Itzhak Perlman. Sammy went on to become the Concertmaster of the Juilliard Preparatory Division String Orchestra. Although classically trained, Weber delights in exploring other musical traditions such as Jazz, Pop, Rock, Country, and of course, Jewish ethnic music.
