The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | Children's Songs of Dalia Friedland Dalia Friedland is a leading actress of Habima, Israel's National Theatre. However, she is particularly known for her songs to children, many of which she sings herself and she is known throughout the country. There are 4 selections on this Vistas of Israel program sung by Ms. Friedland: 1) Izrahim Shel Mastic, Bubble Gum Seeds, is one of Ms. Friedland's most popular records. To make this recording, Dalia went to a frontier kibbutz in a dangerous area at the time and the children of the kibbutz sang as a chorus. The song tells the story of a fantasy land where bubble gum grows from trees that come form the seeds planted by the children. 2) Ma Asot Ha'Lacavot, What Do The Trains Do? The children of Kibbutz Masada wrote to Ms. Friedland about the daily kibbutz events and she sings this song about a train that puts a little boy to sleep. 3) Candy On A Stick (no Hebrew title) is a song about a garden where children have planted sticks which all grew candy and one little boy asks for a car and the whole garden disappears, a story with a moral. 4) Pety La'amim, Little Fool, is a song about a little boy who sees a traffic light, but what he sees instead is a big man with green, yellow and red eyes. |
