The Recorded Sound Archives (RSA) is a unit of FAU Libraries Special Collections department. We are located in the Wimberly Library on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Originally established in 2002 as a small project dedicated to the preservation of recorded Jewish music, it has matured into a robust digitization operation for all types of sound recordings.

| Notes | The Nahal Entertainment Troupe Nahal are the Hebrew initials standing for the Fighting Pioneering Youth and is one of the fighting units of the Israel Defense Forces. Its members are trained as paratroopers, but they have also established new agricultural settlements on Israel's borders and in the Negev. There are 4 selections on today's Vistas of Israel program: 1) Nomi Schemer, the composer of Jerusalem of Gold wrote a song after she visited a Nahal border settlement in the south of the country. The untitled Hebrew song describes the beauty of what she saw. Ms. Schemer sang the song and accompanied herself on the piano. 2) Carnivale Ba'Nahal is sung by an unnamed choral group (probably the Nahal Troupe) and soloists and asks people to join a party being thrown by Nahal. 3) B'simla Odama, In A Red Dress, is sung by the Nahal Troupe. It is a story about a young girl in a red dress who sees war and wants to know why and no one can answer. 4) Shir Ha'Shalom, A Song To Peace, is sung by the Nahal Troupe and is a joyous and exuberant song. |
