Notes | A Visit To Kibbutz Sdeh Boker (narrative only) Kibbutz Sdeh Boker is generally known as the kibbutz of David Ben-Gurion, the former Prime Minister of Israel. An interview takes place with a Japanes e student who works the fields and who wanted to learn Israeli history as well as the day-to-day operation of a kibbutz, which information he could take back to his native country and attempt to help implement the kibbutz way of life. Another extensive interview takes place with a 24 year old German who determined that he wanted to become a permanent resident of the Kibbutz as well as becoming a convert to Judaism. He stated that he was warmly received by the Kibbutz community and was looking forward to fitting in as well in the future as it had been to date. Two Kibbutz young women are interviewed and gave their favorable opinions about living the kibbutz life. Finally, Mr. Ben-Gurion is interviewed very briefly saying that the best hours of his life had been spent on the Kibbutz. |
